My heart is with all of you. Life often throws puzzles at us that are hard to decipher. I believe there's a reason for everything. We need time to tell us what's the lesson we need to learn. Hopefully, it won't be a hard one, although in these cases, it usually is.

I am beside myself. Honestly thought this man could never win again. Never bet against the stupidity of the American people.

A felon for president, elected by so many…pretty stupid move on their part. But it’s the ‘economy, stupid’ is what was foremost in their thoughts as they voted. Not to forget the invasion of all those felons from other countries and the threat America will be turned socialist or commie, etc., etc. Well, as right-wing influencer Benny Johnson says, Project 2025 was real. Trump preached FEAR. And now I fear.

Yes, but you live in Holland and have duel citizenship. It could be worse.

Never, ever, bet against the stupidity of the DNC. Terrible candidate. Terrible campaign. Again. Celebrity endorsements and ignoring the needs of the working class was always not going to end well.

I agree in part. For years, I referred to the Democratic Party as a party that would fuck up a wet dream before going to sleep. Worse is the other party that backed a candidate totally unqualified and unfit for the office. Then you have millions of addled voters who bought the con and non-stop lies of a grifter.

It’s the New World Order…the best candidate v a lying, cheating,, fraudulent, misogynistic, criminal, narcissistic sociopathic cult leader.

If the felon does half the things he says he will, those he conned will discover they'll have far less than they believed they had under Biden. They can forget affordable healthcare, prices will continue to climb, any tax cuts they'll receive will not make difference for them, and retirement will become a pipedream.

And a how many did not vote? At all? The alienation felt by people was totally underestimated, by Harris and her party. Totally out of touch. The 71 million people who turned out for Trump cannot all be dismissed as stupid. That’s part of the problem right there in that assessment. The cards have fallen. Let’s see what this addition to the pantomime brings to the stage.

Unfortunately, many will. By the time they realize their mistake, it'll be too late.

Beautifully put, we also must vote against a person here in UK, two party systems fail us and we hope that one day we will have PR in our country as many do in Europe. Thinking of all my friends & relations in America right now & hoping for the good result, bless you both, 🤔🩷☮️🕊️🗳️

I like your haiku, Fred. It strikes a nice optimistic note before the inevitable chaos comes if Trump loses.

I'm hopeful people will try to remain calm despite the chaos. I'm also hopeful that the powers that be have a contingency plan better than they had on J6.

Here’s my haiku

May we know who wins

May it be definitive

And may he be gone!
