Picturing his wife at home, wondering what took him so long; the list she gave him was short.

Next time, maybe she’ll go along, laugh together at the wonky cart, get their stuff, head on home, and have a cup of tea on the back porch.

That’s sort of how the story goes…but coffee and not tea on the deck….

I was thinking about using coffee rather than tea but here, coffee is in the morning and evening, tea in he afternoon.

Thanks for the restack, Geraldine. With luck, I might have it out by the end of the summer. I'm still selecting and editing.

Beautiful telling details in this poem. Very engaging and reminded me of taking my dad to shop when he was alive. He was 93 when he returned to stardust and every time I pass by his favorite Parmesan cheese, I think of him.

Love this! We took our 93 year old friend Everett to Costco (his request!) and what a trip! Zipping around on his scooter, offering to buy us a hot dog, asking why we weren’t buying more… 🙄

Everett is lucky he can still zip around at 93.

I like it! Cute. And your writing placed me right there with him. Perhaps, I am he.

Thank you Joseph. Those of us of a certain age know the routine and the wobbly cart wheel.
