Thankyou for this pure and clear message. It’s telling me that other people are feeling the same way about the world and can’t merely sit back and do nothing.

Thank you , Frederick

We're caught between witnessing and helplessness, between knowing and the terrible knowledge that knowing changes nothing.

Perhaps the most honest answer is that we keep asking, even when the silence that follows becomes its own kind of response

Thank you, a.m. I’ve been asking for 60 years, after I realized as a teen that not all was what we were told it was or what it seemed.

The repetition echoes here as it does in my mind. Sometimes I wonder which ocean the blood would fill if somehow it was all fresh at once since the beginning of time.

Fred, I sympathize with you. I feel helpless because I don’t have answers or solutions. Repeated violence, so many lost lives and for what? To satisfy those in power . You’re not alone in your outrage.

Thank you for reposting this poem, Fred. It speaks well to this present era in which we find ourselves and the genocide that is going on now in Gaga. Would you please do me a favour and put a link to it in one of the comment boxes in my poem, or put the whole poem in there if you wish to. It's very true and very good.

It happens again and again…

outliers driven by madness

with access to power and weapons.

What do we say

about nations

whose leaders fail to act?

How many times

must we endure

the murders of children

and innocents?

How many times

must we see weeping

faces and hear sobs

of sorrow and despair?

How many times

must we hear vapid words

from excuses to condolences

of hollow thoughts and prayers?

How many times

will some pols voice outrage

while others deflect

and gloss over?

Again and again

we hear it’s not …

it’s ….

Again and again

nothing is done

Again and again

we shake our heads.
