Inside Out and Upside Down
a light gray sky
kisses a dark gray sea
spawns horizons
obliterated by fog
chanting in breaking surf
seagulls protest shrilly
a troubled earth hiccups
and rotates counterclockwise
people collapse dizzy
missing the merry-go-round's
elusive brass ring
bored children complain
some parents trip over
false equivalence
mistaking wrong for right
blurry nebulae spin
as children's pinwheels
beyond naked eyes
frenzied galactic
fireworks burst soundlessly
their spent stars join
wandering comets
and dead planets swept
into a celestial cesspool
the wise see all
with eyes shut
don't speak unless asked
