The poem below is from 2021 and will be included in “Meanderings,” my forthcoming collection of poems.
Is there anything
more debilitating
more poisonous
than fear exploited
as a weapon
to corrupt reason?
When fear infects a mind
it spreads like a virus
to sow darkness in doubt
strangle critical thinking
ferment hatred|
spawn violence
and harvest not life
but death.
Is there an antidote ?
A palliative might not suffice.
I just love your poetry so much! It is not only beautiful, but also creates thought-provoking ripples that stay with me for a long time. Thank you!
Also, I wanted to let you know that I can't be reached by direct messaging, because I don't have the substack app, and so couldn't read your msg. However, I can be reached via this email: truth.unveiling193@passinbox.com
Frederick, it appears that that fear propels hate and that love is the antidote to fear. It is a hard concept for me to grasp, but the sages point in that direction.
